All about banks I guess. I run Winbond BH-5 chips from Kingston (valueR and HyperX). When I run 2x256 I can get to 218-220 on NF7-S at tight timings like 2-2-2-6. But when I try to use 2x512 there is no way I can pass Prime95 anywhere higher than 200 using 2-2-2-6.
Now one would think this memory might be worse. But it isn't! I used the same memory in Intel Springdale with about the same results, both 2x256 and 2x512 go up to 220 on tight timings. I know that Intel boards are a hell of a lot better in handling all types of memory than NF2 boards but this is weird. One would think that NF2 has solved this problem but it seems it didn't.
