NF7-S 2.0 not detecting CPU!?!?!

Just installed my new NF7-S and Mobile Barton 2500+ yesterday. Updated the BIOS to the latest release and it still doesn't automatically recognize the processor. It works under user defined settings and it's stable o/c'd to 200*11 2200. Also appears to be unlocked because it runs at 200*11.5 and it detected as 2300. Is there something wrong with my MB or CPU? Anyone else have this problem?

Thats normal since you have a mobile processor. A few of my friends run mobiles on the same board and get unknown cpus also. However, CPUz does recognize the chip as mobile.

Thats normal. Mobile CPU's are supported my desktop mobo's. It works fine it just dosn't know the name of it.

Yeah, its normal. That's what mine shows up as, and yes, the mobile cpu is unlocked (that's why we're buying it!)

So, no nothing is wrong with your mobo/cpu. Most everyone with a mobile has this so-called "problem". Although I hear the DFI mobos have new BIOS revisions so the mobile cpu is "recognized".

I have the same mobo, same CPU, and the same "problem". The peeps in the Overclocking Forum assured me that it's not a problem after all and they're right.

Hopefully Abit, or some modders, will include CPUID strings for mobile chips in the near future. I just like seeing the name of the chip recognized at least partially.

I like it better because it always gets wierd looks at lan parties when your booting up. I just say its my Athlon XP Extreme Edition CPU 😀

Hoffodome, get that chip up to 12x200. It only takes 1.7V for me to get mine there stably and the speed is incredible.

Falloutboy, I just got my chip. I haven't taken my rig to a LAN party yet with it in. I hope to get the same looks from the other people.
