The Athlon 64's on-die memory controller forces chipset manufacturers to compete more on features and peripheral performance than ever before, and that's exactly where the nForce3 250Gb's strengths lie. Motherboards featuring the new chipset should be available in a few weeks' time, and if they exploit the 250Gb's full potential, they should be well worth the wait. It may have taken some time for NVIDIA to bring the nForce3 up to speed, but the nForce3 250Gb is at least a couple of steps ahead of the rest of the Athlon 64 chipset field.

Nice, I think this is the motherboard chipset I've been waiting for until my jump to the A64 wagon. :)

For a fact that's the chipset I've been waiting for. Now I need just two more things:

1. Socket 939 A64 with DCDDR enabled
2. Money

:)

Looks good. Can't wait for final revisions and actual consumer products from companies like Abit, Asus, DFI, EPoX, etc to see what they do with the chipset =)

When are we going to see these boards available? I've heard end of the month, but I've also been hearing things like that since December.

If AOpen doesn't offer a new bios (like the AK86-L bios) for this AK89 Max, it's done (for me) come the first A64 motherboard with verified agp/pci lock, a good range of overclocking options in the bios, and good feedback/reviews. Will that be the nForce3 250?

Any news on when we might see the Abit KV8 Pro? At least Abit has it listed on their website.

I'd love to go back to Epox, I hope they release an 8RDA+ style NF3-250Gb. That's all I need. :)

As soon as the Asus NForce 250GB board is out I will be a happy Athlon64 owner, been waiting since Christmas but I think it will be worth it.

If ABIT make anything like my NF7-S Rev 2.0.... Ill be kicking myself for not upgrading for a while.

2.3ghz Barton, 1 Gb RAM and 9800Pro has to last me a few years. University takes a lot of money out of my budget.
