Is there any point in getting a motherboard with one of these if you never have any intention of running more than two GPUs?

I've been poring over forum threads and reviews on this, but the most common focus of the discussion seems to be running three GPUs with versus three GPUs without it, however the PCIe lanes divvy themselves out (the whole "NF200 adds latency" thing). I'm having trouble determining what the impact of an NF200 is with two GPUs.

Does it get you 2 X16 GPU slots? Would X16 slots make a difference compared to X8 slots for something like a GTX570 or a 6970?

Thoughts?

Its also worth noting that P55 Native isn't exactly a recommended combination with 3xCrossfire (or SLI for that matter).

It is probably 8x8x1 as far as PCI-E lanes.
