NF200 - is it hurting me?

I mistakingly received (ok ordered hehe) a P6T6 WS Revolution when I should've gotten the P6T6 WS instead. The former is tri-sli which I have no desire to use, no firewire controller. The southbridge/NF200 combination runs scorching hot - easily the hottest thing in the system!

The system runs OK perhaps the exception a power supply issue currently but if I don't need TRI SLI is the board holding back? They almost sent me two EVGA classified boards (they were allocated and ready for shipment) but I noticed the same thing not to mention it was over $900 for just two boards! I think that one has the same setup. (NF200?)

I want the best board out there. I use the other PCI-E 16X slot for massive storage controller.

You're going to likely want your storage controller on the primary (Non-NF200) PCIe 16x slot due to the added latency that the NF200 puts on the bus.

Which one is that?

The video card is in the top PCI-E slot and the storage controller is in the next blue slot down.

Speed seems OK a little better than the X48 board I had. About 150MB/S 4K crystalmark.

Honestly I don't know. You'd have to check the manual to see if it tell you which slots are hosted where. Speed should be just about the same, especially in sustained IO. But it's the random IO where the latency difference may show up.

The blue slots are the SLI enabled for 3 way SLI per manual so yes it's in one of 'em Latency is probably in the µS range? Definitely not going to notice. It won't be much to change around.

I also have a 1394b card in the 4X slot. That seems fine.
