barton 2500+
512x2 mushkin pc3500
asus a7n8x 2.0 delux

i just did the vdd mod and raised it all the way up to 1.92v and still can't get 200mhz fsb
bios and apps report cpu temp at about 40c and mb at 28c

why is the nf2 chipset/motherboard not hitting 200mhz fsb ???

Dual channel will hurt getting to 200+. Can try cranking the Vmem. I assume you've ran at a real low multiplier to make suer it isn't your CPU giving out, right?

Anyways, if it won't do 200fsb out of the box I would have just returned it.

yeah i tryed all the way down to like 5x for a multiplyer
and i've cranked the vmem up to 2.8v even tho it is only rated up to 2.7v

Possibly your RAM.

I am at 220x8.5 right now 100% stable.

Vdimm = 2.99

I've heard that A7N8X's have problems hitting 200 FSB.

768 is a wierd number. try reducing it to two dimms or 512MB

also i don't think the memory you have now is going to take 200+fsb.

i'd get 2x256 dimms of pc3200

i'd recommend corsair only cause its what i use and its been very good for me.

He said he has 2 sticks of Mushkin 512MB PC3500.

Anyways, I have a rev. 1.04 A7N8X and I had trouble hitting 200MHz unless I used only ONE DIMM. I max out at 185MHz FSB with dual channel, but can go 205MHz FSB on single channel.

I don't think his memory is the problem. I'm running cheap micron pc3200 512mb and geil basic pc3200 512mb at 200FSB(2.6volt).

I guess it's the MB.

yeah that was my system before the 600+ dollars of upgrades
and believe it or not that motherboard/mem at 105fsb let me outperform the nf2 setup at the same clock speed in 3dmark2k3
