NF2 Ultra mobo - can't get audio driver to install

MichaelD

Lifer
Epox 8RDA3I mobo

I'm perplexed; this is the umpteenth NF2 motherboard that I've installed and I've never had this problem.

In the bios AC97 audio is enabled. I install the Unified driver (latest 5.10) and I install all the components. Reboot. Device Manger shows this pic

I expanded Sound Controllers b/c what's missing is NForce Audio-something. All my other NF2 boards have an entry here.

I have tried uninstalling the audio controller and letting Windows redetect it. I've tried reinstalling the Unified driver (3x) I've tried disabling in the bios, rebooting, rebooting, re-enabling with nill results.

Any ideas?

Those don't use an nVidia APU, though, unless I recall incorrectly... 😕 Realtek, is it not? Try a Realtek driver 🙂

mechBgon, I love you. In a strictly friendly, non-biblical sort of way. 😀

I am downloading the driver from Epox as we speak. 😱 Thanks very much. IB Teh Dumb@ss.

The NV UDP audio driver works fine even when SS is absent. I've built 3 systems based on the Biostar M7NCG 400 (SB is MCP not MCP-T). The remix I use on my Abit NF7-S R2 worked perfectly on all 3 builds.
