I have an MSI Nforce2 MB, the one I got if the first release, not the reversion. I flashed the Bios a month or so ago. And when I boot up the POST says "single channel memory" My MB doesn't have the colored DIMM slots. Will it still take the dual channel memory? I was under the impression that Dual Channel support was just for the revised board.
I'm looking to get more memory and if it supports dual 400ddr then I might as well go to that.

thanks.

And your mobo model number iiiiiiis?

I wouldn't get hung up on dual channel memory. With AMD it is NOT worth going out of your way for it. Performance increase is not significant.

All the older NF2 boards were dual channel capable. The single channel revisions came out much later. Just look in your mobo manual QueBert, it'll show you which slots are channel 1 and which one is channel 2. To set up dual channel, you put one stick on channel 1 and the other in channel 2 (duh). The channels might even be silkscreened onto the motherboard itself, break out the flashlight and see if it is.

I know it's not a big boost, but I'm running 333 right now, I suppose just going to DDR400 would make a decent difference.

probably a K7N2-L just stick the ram in Dimm slots 1 and 3 to run memory in dual channel mode.
