Since Nexus' are just cherry-picked Yate-Loons, I would vote Nexus. I guess you also need to consider how much CFM you need since the Nexus will run slower and push slightly less air.

well its not a bad idea of having it run slower without a fan controller. i'd try to get the nexus if your system wont run to hot with them.

edit: I myself am thinking of getting a 92mm nexus hope it holds up on its end considering its the only fan really in my shuttle.

Don't look at the brands, they're pretty much the same fans.

Do you need 1350RPM (YL) or 1000RPM (Nexus)? Just make your decision off that.

You can always calculate the values for a couple of dropping resistors if the Y-L is too loud - don't have to buy a controller. OTOH, you can't make the Nexus blow more air w/o overvolting it. Let me know how you'd easily do that.

For my case fans i've got akasa fans because they run faster @12v 1400 RPM and i wanted more airflow than the nexus offered.

Edited to make some sense.

i have a 120mm nexus as a front intake. extremely quiet. im probably going to replace my loud exhaust 120mm with a nexus soon.
