Nexus Controller hookup to case fans? Strange?

OK, before anyone freaks out, I haven't turned my new computer on yet with the case fans hooked up to the Nexus controllers (NXP-201). I've had it running for about a month sitting outside the case and finally put the MB inside the case tonight.

One strange thing I noticed is that when I hook up the ADDA case fans that came with my Lian-Li case to the Nexus controller, it looks like the following wires are connected from the ADDA to the Nexus 3-pin connector extender like this:

blue >> black
red >> red
black >> yellow

That's the way it hooks up with the slider thing slid into place like it should be with 3-pin connectors. I would think it should be black >> black, red >> red, blue >> yellow.

The Coolermaster Neon fan is hooked up as follows to the Nexus controller 3-pin extender:

black >> yellow
red >> red
yellow >> black

Once again, it seems like it should be like colors to like colors but it is not with the slider thing in place like typical 3-pin connectors. I also have two Sunon fans in the front hooked up using Antec 3-pin extenders to the Nexus and it shows:

black >> black
red >> red
yellow >> white

Just in case you're totally confused, I'll confuse you even more. I'm now looking at the connections to the back of my controllers. The ADDA and Coolermaster fans all show the black wire on the left side, whereas the Sunon fans show the black wire on the right side of the connection to the Nexus. To control the fan speed, do the wires have to cross at some point along the line? Is that why these connections are like this? Help?! Thank you.

doesn't matter as long as the fans work, and spin in the right direction. fan speed control is based on power sent, which the controller controls. rpm line only reports speed. but well..unless u cut that 3rd line and add a connector tehn connect to m/b or something, u don't have rpm monitoring.

Well, there has to be a reason why it flipped for the Vantec connectors at the connection and for the Antec connectors at the controller connection. I guess I would just like to know WHY it works like this. Anyway, I went ahead and fired it up last night and everything's fine!

Comparing cable colors of products from totally different manufacturers is not a good idea... Each mfgr can do whatever they like. I think just using it as-is will work ok for you. If you're worried just make sure they spin the right direction and there are no sparks flying... :)

They all have black as ground and red as positive. It's the third line (yellow or white or blue) that may vary in color. The only thing I can figure is Vantec put the clips on the wrong side of the connectors and that's why it looks different. Yes, everything's working correctly, but anyone know for sure what's up with this? I would really like to know.
