Hi all,

I started getting this issue recently- I'd say "Set alarm for 12 minutes" but instead of doing that my Nexus 7 would set alarm for 12 o'clock.
It worked perfectly well before, I haven't installed any updates or done any other fancy stuff either.

Any idea how can I resolve this?

Thank you.

You set alarms at specific times, and you set TIMERS for specific durations. Try saying "Set timer for 12 minutes".

However I just tried both and they both do the same (correct) thing.

Thanks for the reply, gorcorps,

That is how it used to be with me as well (although I wasn't using the word "timer" but "time").
Not anymore. I just tried saying "timer" and the first time an online page opened with the query on top, the second time the alarm was set in the previous incorrect manner.

Very strange.

Have you tried uninstalling Google search and reinstalling from the market?

sorry for the late reply. Do you mean I should uninstall Voice Search? Because there isn't Google Search in the app drawer...Or you mean uninstall the Google search bar on the top?

If you open the market and search for "Google search" you should find the app installed, and you can un install it from there. Then reinstall

I checked with XDA-developers as well and according to one of the users the alarm has had issues since 4.2.2 update. I guess I will revert to an old version of Android, but first will try "Google search" re-install.

The language set is USA english.
