You get that through your google account (when registering your Nexus 7), which means I can buy it anywhere and get the credit, am I correct?

I have a Staples gift card and Staples carry them. Just wondering.

Yes. I got mine at Gamestop and got the credit (and paid no taxes on it, thanks tax free weekend).
