So, I got my nexus 5 yesterday.
Everything seems fine. But I'm having issues opening my emails (yahoo hotmail acct) using the email client that nexus 5 provided. I synced it with my phone. I keep getting error message saying "unfortunately your email has stopped". It does it with my gmail but I'm able to open it.
Any idea what's causing this? When I first had it synced it was fine. Bit when I got up this morning I got that error message.
And when I do try to open it and get that message, that message will pop up couple of times afterwords.

I DL task manager. It seems there r a tons of app running in the background. How do I keep from running in the background and keep it from eating up my memory?

Hope y'all can help cause this new phone is driving me crazy.

Also any virus/malware protection you guys can suggest in the google play store? Something that is not bloated and eat up my memory but does it's job. And if my phone ever gets stolen or lost i would be able to track it down or remotely turn it off.

Free but if it's worth it i'll get the paid version.

You have a full featured OS in your hand, of course you have tons of processes to handle this just like in Windows or Mac. Don't mess with this unless you have very good reason and understanding what you are doing.
Removing a process from memory just means that it will be reloaded as soon it is needed and this causes more work from the phone.
Keeping something in memory is for free.
It is good and positive that the 2GB comes to use. Please Google Android memory management if you want to learn more.

I figured the email part out.

I don't plan on removing anything other than an app i DL'd. I just have task manager and it kills stuff when automatically.

So, should i uninstall task manager?

Yes. When the task manager kills the app, eventually the app might restart by its own. Then task manager kills it again. Then repeat, wasting your battery

What I've found useful is greenify. It hibernates your app and doesn't allow it to start again . useful for Facebook when I don't care about auto updates

True but there are instances where Greenify gets in a cat and mouse game too, and that's with apps that sync, like Google+ or Gmail. If you Greenify those, your system can still try to sync and start those apps up.

With task managers, I'd argue that they are *somewhat* useful if you don't have the back button kill option. There are times where some apps do get stuck in an endless loop or something where the GPS won't shut up. But do not setup task managers to auto kill any apps.

Well u can choose not kill apps with task manager.
But is it still worth to have it. I guess I can set up not to auto kill.

So, is greenify worth it vs task manager?

Yes by far. However, if you don't use shitty apps, Greenify isn't that useful though. Remember, Greenify isn't supposed to be a default app everyone uses, and the proper way to use it isn't to Greenify everything. You're only supposed to find troublesome apps. I let my phone run for a month without Greenify and honestly it ran great then already.

No it's not. You can always kill from the multitask view or the built-in Android app manager.
Not sure if killing from the multitask view is the same. For example if the app starts a service and a task, you only kill the task. It's worth it to have a decent method of killing the service too. I suppose that's what the Apps menu is for.

I'll try greenify and c how it will work for me.

I've also DL an app called Clean master. Ever heard of it? I wonder if its worth it. Its suppose to clean up old cache and uninstall apps and perform stuff

android keeps stuff resident to help speed things up. all modern operating systems do this. a well running computer nowadays keeps its memory full.

So, it seems google plans to stop making the nexus in 2015. Does that mean they are leaving the mobile phone business? The hardware side of it.

Just read that google sold Motorola mobility to lenovo.
This phone was a good deal unlocked. Cheaper than samsung s4.
