I can see people using this in the office on there work desk but other than the cool factor I have zero use for this type of charging.

When my phone is dead I plug it in and lay on the couch and use it while charging

The thing with wireless charging is you won't find yourself in this situation very often. I loved the touchstone charging on the Pre, & ordered the first Qi chargers I could get my hands on when I got my N4. I have three, one at work & two at home (nightstand/desk). My phone spends so much time on a charger that I'm basically never anywhere near out of battery.

And the ability to pick it up off my nightstand in the dark, do whatever I need to do, and put it back without fumbling for cords is great. Same with my desks - Drop it on and pick it up again when you walk away. No hassle.

Once you've had a phone with it you will resent USB every single time you plug it in.

For the most part it's just the convenience, you just plop it on to the pad and it charges, I have one next to my bed because it's just nice to roll over and put it on the pad without having to fumble with the cord -- especially if I read/use it right before bed/sleep.

I'd get it if the phone charged faster on it than using the cable to charge it.

I'd get one(or several) if I was sure it was going to last a long time and every one of my future phones would work with it out of the box.
