Nextel Rocks

This is by far the best cellular I've ever used. First off, the phone, an i95cl, is bigger than the other phones from sprint. I'm not sure whether its because it's made by Motorola (an American company) or because it's just made bigger, but it doesn't feel as flimsy as my last phone (an Lg5350 for sprint). Furthermore, the phone has features up the wazoo. Next is the service. Before, when I had Sprint PCS, I had to stick my head out the top window of my two-story house in order to get any kind of decent reception. Now, I can use the Nextel anywhere in my house, including the basement. Hell, the other day I received a phone call while I was waiting for a train in Times Square (on 42nd street). Finally, customer service picks up the phone really quickly and their really nice.

The only downside is the fact that it was impossible to find the iDEN cable to synchronize my Outlook contacts into the phone (I ended up doing it myself). Another issue is that the phone's radio frequency interacts with my monitor's frequency, which makes it possible for me to know beforehand if I'm getting a call or not. But overall, I'm glad I made the switch.

Yes, we're all big fans of the walky-talky feature on those goddamn phones

If Nextel were more affordable, I'd be all over it.

T-Mobile ownz Nextel when it comes to affordable calling plans.

true, but nextel's prices have been coming down for a while now, within reach of sprint's offering. furthermore, with the nationwide rollout of directconnect, it's going to be even sweeter. Hopefully they'll work with the upcoming verion of sprint and verizon's push-to-talk feature.

I love my Nextel. It also helps to have a friend who works for Nextel, who hooked my up with 750 ADDITIONAL minutes per month.

Nextel is trash when it comes to customer service. Watch your bills very carefully. They tried to rip me off by overcharging me ~$400. Only when I finally got my lawyer involved did they finally back off and fix their mistakes. The "manager" I spoke with even went as far as telling me that since I'm leaving Nextel, I deserve no consideration at all.

Alot of it depends on how good the service is in your area. I currently have a Sprint account and a T-Mobile account...so far I don't have any real complaints with either. I use my Sprint phone most of the time domestically and my T-mobile phone when I travel internationally. If you need international roaming, T-mobile or Nextel is the way to go as Sprint doesn't offer it.

happy T-mobile user here in the DC area. works great in my apartment but I dont get reception in my office at work which is kind of a bummer considering my office mate's verizon phone does. other than that, T-mobile is pretty decent.

I have had all three. Sprint was my least favorite... the phones had spotty coverage wherever I went. They have some cool looking phones and poor customer service and I dropped Sprint after 1 year.

Nextel, by far, was my favorite. My boss was paying for the plan at $90/month, and it was the only company that got reception in the basement of the Airport including Tmobile, AT&T, Verizon, Cingular, Sprint, etc.

TMobile is the best bang for the buck. They do not offer the coolest phones all of the time, but the service is fantastic. The CSR's are helpful and try to make the customer happy.

If I could afford Nextel, that is what I would go with, if you need a good value service, go with Tmobile.

I like Nokia but I'm looking at the Nextel Blackberry 6510. Now that is a sweet one! :)

Sorta high in price however.
