This is the decision i am trying to make.

I have 256 meg pc 3200 ddr and a radeon 9500 pro running in my box now. I just recently came across some money and i want to put it into the pc.

Compusa has PNY pc 3500 DDR for 79 a stick after rebate (512mb)
Or
I could buy a nice video card off of the for sale forums... which one would you guys do? I am going to be getting the other by the end of the week anyways...

Thanks

RAM definitely, though depending on what you want to do you probably don't need PC3500.

What he said PC3500 is for people who want to overclock. It will allow you to run at higher speeds while maintaining a 1:1 ratio of the FSB and memory

ram, 256 is hardly enough to simply do office tasks in XP let alone game

Agreed. I doubt you will find a better card than your 9500 Pro for $79 off the FS/FT forum as well.

Well said, shady06. Hell, even 512MB is pushing it in modern games. And even now the 9500 Pro isn't too much of a slouch at gaming (depending on your expectations), so keep that for now.

(And as for the overclocking/PC3500 thing, you only need PC3500 if your FSB is going to go much above 225, for most good value PC3200 RAM.)
