Next time I reinstall Windows, I should...

I don't reinstall the OS very often and I want to make the most of it. I've already thought of doing these two things:

- Make a partition for the OS and Apps and one for all of my files so I don't have to move stuff off the drive if I ever need to reinstall again

- Make an image of the OS partition through Acronis after I install Windows so I don't have to go through that again on this machine.

Any other ideas?

What I have is a RAID 0 hdd with 2 partitions. One for OS/Apps and the other is for all my files and downloads.. Then I have second hdd with 2 partitions also, which has a clone of the 2 partitions from my RAID 0 hdd's. If disaster occurs on my RAID 0 hdd's, I rebuilt the RAID and clone it from the back up hdd. I do the re-cloning for the back up as required depending how much files and apps have been added to the primary hdd. The back up hdd is not always plugged in. I unplug it after a re-cloning session to make sure it does not wear out unnecessarily and then just plug it in as required for re-cloning. The only disadvantage of this is that it's not an up to date back up. However, this system is not for business so it's acceptable. I seldom do re-install and usually only after a major mobo back up if even.
