Next PC build, Whats Out 05 ?

Easy all, I?m going to building my next PC in a years time, right before I go University ( I?m from the UK), lol maybe a little bit away but I wanted some advice on whats going to be available .

I was thinking maybe a socket 939 4200+, 2GB Of DDR 400, 6800 Ultra, 120 GB HD etc. Has anyone got any ideas on what?s going to be available around july 05 ? Intel/AMD. Plus will ATI/Nividia have new cards out by then ? money wont be a problem, student loan or should I say beer budget will sort the PC out.

At the moment I am running a 2000+ , 512 DDR 266, FX 5600, when I build my new PC I want to feel the performance jump, but to be fair my pc seems ok as it is.

My system will be mainly used for DBMS/VB.C++ and gaming, I?m pro AMD but If Intel start selling EE?S for £10 each you bet I?d grab one.

Who really knows but it is realistic to say there will be a 4200+ and possibly even dual core A64s out also.
At this point it is all speculation. NV50\R500 should also be out by then so the 6800 will be 2nd class

dual cored athlon 64's will not be out by then. you'll have to wait til Q4 05 to Q1 06 on that. You'll have to stick wtih DDR2 then. it'll become mainstream in about half a yr i believe. since money isnt a problem, you can get the fx-57 then.

You are really planning too far out. You'd be better setting a budget of x and working off that when the time comes.
