Next Nexus to be made by LG, powered by quad core Tegra 3?

I'm surprised at LG, if this story is true and not just hearsay. I guess it's LG's chance to get its foot in the door, most likely there may be an iPhone 5 out by that time, so they have to compete.

I suddenly have some buyer's remorse . . . :/

Don't see any carrier information in the link though.

I was surprised it's LG as well. I was expecting Motorola but given their bootloader policy, making a nexus would oppose it. Motorola is focused on Verizon and VZW hates Nexus phones, so LG does make sense.

What I do like about LG: generous with specs and bold in hardware selection. They were the first to offer a dual core phone and the only OEM to put a OMAP4 in a phone.
And LG doesn't care (yet) about locking bootloaders, a major factor.

While LG caught flak for their skinning and general software quality, it's not an issue since it's the Nexus.

Obviously, this is at rumor stage but I do find it plausible or wouldn't have posted it.

I don't know, the Nexus S missed the dual core train, i don't have much confidence the next Nexus phone will have the latest Quad Core.

AT&T's not too crazy about them either. That leaves Sprint? Regional carriers?

T-Mobile is expected to remain a separate entity well past the usual Nexus launch date. You do have a point though, without subsidy, it won't sell well like the Nexus 1/s previously.
Despite that, a quad core phone won't go unnoticed.

Steve Jobs said the iphone will always feature a 3.5" screen but I am hooked on 4.3". Still, I hope the iphone 5 kicks ass and forces others to pull out all the stops. I want the OEM's who cater to me to be in a position where they have to reply with their best shot. Tools needed for that are in the process of being made.

I'm guessing this will be the Nexus Tab... Then it could truly be carrier-free, for one thing.

Because Moto sucks.

LG's main hardware problem so far has been displays; hopefully they stick to IPS for this one.
