Now that all of this years insanely great games are coming off the shelves, I find myself wondering if anymore are on the horizon. I mean Halo3, CoD4, Crysis, Assassins Creed, etc etc etc.. these games are great and have been looked at for eagerly anticipating fans. Now it seems as if the pool of great games to come has dried up for the most part. So, are there any games that you know of that are coming on the horizon that seem very promising?

I'm talking years down the road, I mean I'm looking forward to the Fallout and OFP2, but those are up and coming very soon. Any 2 years down the road that we know of?

The new Total War with navel battles looks promising. I think they call it Total War:Empires.

And Mafia II looks awesome as well.

I also have my fingers crossed for a new Max Payne. Though Remedy decided not to bother to develop it because of piss-poor sales of MP2. Instead they're developing Alan Wake which will also be on console.

It's really a shame that people could not "BUY" MP2.

Deus Ex 3 (a long way out, but it's been announced)
Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Mafia 2
Precursors (if they ever learn to fix more than add when patching)
STALKER: Clear Sky

Too bad Deus Ex 3, if and when it becomes a reality, won't be involving Warren Spector, Deus Ex 2 didn't and look at the result. They will have to work hard to redeem the original.

Mafia 2 looks like it still will have 3rd person and most of the original style of game play, the original was good, probably a lot of cut scenes as well.

Also waiting for word on the next Wolfenstein release if it ever happens.

The next 2+ years look barren to me. Fallout 3 and OFP2 are two of the bigger titles, as well as DE3, but all 3 of them are related to their predecessors in name and backdrop only. None of the people who originally created those games will be involved in these 'sequels'.

Dude there are tons of great/highly anticipated games coming out NOW, why can't we just enjoy them and then worry about 2 years from now?

Either way, DNF will be the bomb, so it gets my vote.

I don't expect Deus Ex 3 to live up to the standards of the original at all, but it may still be a good enough game. Aside from poor production values (instability, small levels, long loading points, etc) Deus Ex 2 was very enjoyable for me. Eidos was in a universal slump around that period (Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, Thief: Deadly Shadows, and Hitman: Contracts all were considered disappointments as well) and since then they've turned around with Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman: Blood Money. I'm not trying to be optimistic as anything could happen in the next few years of development, but another game on par with the second is fine with me.

Believe me I hope it's good, the original even with it's dated graphics had a great story line and the ability to choose your path along with nano-augmentations made it totally unique.

Well, there are two Max Payne movies in the works. An independent production and a big-budget Mark Wahlberg vehicle.

Might renew interest in the series. /crosses fingers

Alan Wake
Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Stalker: Clear Sky

There's not too much, but there are some quality titles. Alan Wake especially looks good, although I haven't heard anything about it in such a long time.

Can anyone say, 'Starcraft 2'?

But, I am not looking forward right now.

We have about 5+ KILLER games out now or coming out by 2008.
