The current CR is good through Dec 20.

My prediction:
If the Reps win the House and Senate: It's to the Rep advantage to let things slide until they have full control so a short CR to through the inauguration followed by a shutdown and total shit show as the Reps infight over leadership positions, mostly in the House but also in the Senate as Moscow Mitch is gone.

If the Dems capture the House: Shutdown in December with no end in sight.

- It's in Pub's interest to punt on this one. Keep things open and running until Dems are out of the way, then pass whatever "starve the beast" budget they want.

Johnson might be a dick, but the dude is thinking with two heads...

Last time Trump / GOP could touch the budget, they codified a doubling of the annual deficit.
After they spent years forcing Obama to slow-walk our economic recovery through BS austerity measures.

But as this is the dawn of a new 1000-year kingdom, they don't have to lift that burden anymore.
