For their OEM drive, usually, "SM" prefix is equivalent to retail "Pro" line, and "PM" prefix is equivalent to retail "Evo" line.

So this is not planned as a top-of-the-line drive. Probably designed to a price point, possibly for widespread OEM mfg adoption. I know Intel's 600p has seen some success in that market.

right $233 for 512gb. A link I find interesting from that page is the mention of new Optane drives.

I think those are the consumer version of the P4800X. I'm very curious about the pricing, as getting a 240 GB Optane OS drive would be great..

yes, I have been waiting for my 8700k and watching whats going on with Samsung. But this Optane sounds amazing just wonder what they will ask for the 240gb? Looks like we'll find out next week.

Upon closer inspection "The new 900P series drives will come in 280GB, 480GB, 960GB, and 1500GB variants" - The Tweaktown article

Based on current pricing I wouldn't be surprised if the 280GB went for close to 1k USD, we can only hope Intel wants Optane to become more widely adopted and cut prices.

yeah, that's what I'm thinking, yet hoping :) I figure if it's it's not over 100 more than I can get a 512gb 960 pro for I'll take a look at it. But I expect I'll end up with a Samsung

U.2, not M.2? Ah well, probably avoids the throttling issue with high-end M.2 drives. So I guess I need to get some U.2 adapters for my M.2 slots.

U.2 and PCI-E add in cards. I'd favour the add in card since I don't have U.2 and it seems limited to HEDT platforms for the time being.
