Next-Gen gaming system HDMI output and LCD monitors

Hi all, I am wondering what is the best hook up to my 24" lcd monitor to experience the hd gaming from next-gen consoles. I hear that hdmi carries more than the video signal, so I'm wondering if the HDMI->DVI adapter can do the trick or not. Thanks.

if your monitor has an hdmi input then use that. if it has dvi then get the adapter.
