Timothy Dalton ruins all of your credibility.

I once read that most diehard Bond fans felt that Dalton's portrayal of Bond was the most accurate to Fleming's vision. Not sure if that's true or not, but I honestly didn't mind Dalton either.

depends on what kind of bond you prefer. i think some people felt some of the more recent bond movies felt like they could have been a generic action thriller movie. just happend to have james bond as the main character.

Daniel Craig: Blame 'Austin Powers' For the Super Serious James Bond Movies

With just a day to go before the new Bond announcement, a newly- surfaced interview with Daniel Craig from 2012 may shed some light on where the series might be headed. When Craig was hired to help reboot James Bond, he knew that he wanted to make a serious film — both because he is a serious actor, and because a certain other spy spoof had made it impossible to do a goofy 007.

"We had to destroy the myth because Mike Myers f—-ed us," the actor told Bond fan publication MI6, referring to Myers’ remarkably successful Austin Powers series. ”I am a huge Mike Myers fan, so don’t get me wrong, but he kind of f—-ed us, made it impossible to do the gags.”

I think his portrayal was more script driven than due to his performance. He just didn't meld with the character at all and didn't have much screen charisma.

Bond movies traditionally have a hint of silliness to them.

I mean,.. a decapitating bowler hate for goodness' sake!

So, not an issue.

The Craig Bond movies are fine action movies but horrible Bond movies. Craig is the worst Bond of them all. Super serious, no facial expressions, not good with the one liners. They are fine action movies but bad James Bond movies.

Well, it's more of a realistic Bond, much the way Nolan's Batman was a more realistic Batman. Both movies make you feel like those characters could live in our world.

Skyfall was boring and by the number of "fell asleep" posts, I am not alone in that thinking

Skyfall was awesome. I loved how it tied the newer Bond with the latter(i.e. Moneypenny). I also liked how it put the controversy of Bond being an actual surname or code name to rest with the simple camera shot of his fathers grave stone.

till the next reboot.

and I hate that moneypenny is now an ex-agent turned secretary

Precisely.

You can live in the past and enjoy your campy Bond movies, but the new ones are also about a return to the Origin, and keeping to the tone of the original story (novels).

I liked Skyfall. Although most people commend it for its cinematography vs the plot.

Casino Royale was awesome and I can rewatch that all day.

Quantum of Solace was written during the writer's strike so we can just pretend that one didn't happen.

CR was fantastic, Skyfall was very good too. I'm excited to see what they'll do with SPECTRE and probably Blofeld.

Ugh, not interested in a campy or less serious Bond film. I love Craig as Bond and like that the movies are srs (bsns).
