Nex time you are listening to your iPod/Zune/MP3 Player

Like most people I am sure, I have a tendency to only listen to the newer music I download to my iPod.

Earlier today I went to the All Songs folder and hit play while set to shuffle. Some damn GOOD music in here that I probably havent listened to in ages!!!!

On 93 of 1258 (although I did skip a few), almost time for a recharge though 🙁

Now Playing: Little Lies - Fleetwood Mac

Oh yeah, I did this today - it eventually landed on Snap!'s song 'Rythem is a Dancer"

Man, great song. 😛

I have 6500 songs on my car's mp3 player. And yes, I have it on shuffle all.

Well goodie for you. I didnt know I was starting a dick waving thread.

Next, you should brag about how you have more posts than I do even though you joined later.

yup, i love doing that.
It makes me realize that there are so many songs in my music collection that I've never listened to before, considering i usually get discographies at a time.

Sorry, I only mean you should add to your music collection.

Seeing as how I have a little of EVERYTHING on my Zune, it's incredibly disconcerting to put it on shuffle. Oh, 2 minutes of Robin William standup, some Marilyn Manson, some Frank Sinatra, some random instrumental from The Fragile (Nine Inch Nails), 2 straight hours of rap I havent heard since high school and we'll cap it all off with Yoda's Theme from Star Wars. No thanks.

Unfortunately the shuffle feature sucks on the Touch. Instead of having completely random songs across all the artists and albums, it lumps several songs from an artist instead. Also when the entire shuffle playlist is done, instead of creating a new random list, it will play them in the same order.

That's the only way I listen to my music. For some reason I hate picking particular songs to listen to, especially while driving...too much brain power. It's usually on shuffle and I'll skip through and stop on a song I like. And yea...I've found songs I never knew I had.

That's how I always listen to music. And recharge after only ~100 songs? My Samsung gets 20 - 30 hours on a single charge.

Edit - well not always, but usually. Sometimes I'll put a full album on but I've never bothered with making playlists.

I don't use shuffle that much because I don't want to listen to Mariah Carey's One Sweet Day after listening to Fear Factory's Demanufacture.

You can adjust that in iTunes. I have mine set so it's very unlikely for that to happen.

I like to leave it on shuffle for a while until I hear a song that really catches my attention, then go listen to that whole album. That's when I realize that I only had that song on my iPod, since I don't have room for more than a quarter of all my music. So I swear a little, look sad, and go back to shuffle- repeat.

I always have my Zune on shuffle. It usually is playing 24/7 (I leave it plugged into the lighter socket in my truck.
