NEX IIe MP3 player (or any other CF mp3 players)...

Who's has one? Good, bad, neither? I'm looking for a cheap MP3 player that accepts compact flash cards (type I and II) since I already have a bunch of that storage because I own a Canon S40. Please post your experiences/suggestions. Thanks.

I've got the Nex II (non-e) and while it's got good sound quality, the build quality leaves something to be desired. It's a pain in the ass to get the batteries out and sometimes when I first power it on and play a song, it'll skip the first 20 seconds or so. A reboot fixes that. But other than that, I've been pleased with it, it allows me to reuse the CF cards and AA NimH batteries I bought for my digital camera.

bump... seems the trend is towards HD based players, which is ok but i'm not a huge fan of the moving parts

With 1-4 GB compactflash hopefully the pendulumn will swing the other way.

Well, I went ahead and got it for 2 reasons:

1) Relatively Cheap. $96 shipped. Decent size too.

2) Already have a good amount of CF storage (256MB + 128MB + 16MB Type I, 340MB Type II)

I'll let you guys know how it goes 🙂

i have the IIe. My first impression was "damn, stupid friends ipod has spoiled me rotten." 🙂 regardless... i found that it "pops" when i turn it on and when the first song plays. sounds decent, lacking some bass (dunno if that's my cruddy earbuds or not tho). the shuffle mode is really a shuffle.. it'll hit the same song after three songs (fully loaded 128MB). Two other things bother me, doesn't auto off, and when you do turn it off and turn it back on.. it doesn't start off on the last song you were listening to
