Wait...you guys are taking the word of a guy's divorced wife as gospel? Tell me you do not have any divorced male friends...or are not divorced yourself...

I do not know if she is lying, but her timing says "I want money and I want to hurt my ex".

I am not a fan of Newt...but seriously...if in a few months someone came out saying they had an affair with Obama in the White House, would all of you hold her statements to the same level you hold the statements an ex wife makes about her ex husband?

I know I would not believe it...Obama seems to have a thing for wookies.

In Newt's case it fits a pattern with all his wives so Maryanne's story automatically gets more credibility.

If Obama had been seen canoodeling with Chewbacca in the past your assertion would have credibility

I want everyone to see how priceless of a quote this is. Republican party, we're all about class.

Any moron could see she is doing it for money and to damage Newt. Why else would she wait this long then crawl out of the woodwork?

eh, what? none of this is a revelation. she's bringing out shit that everyone knew, a long, long time ago. i honestly don't think this will matter, as his supporters have long accepted the fact that he's a dirty, hypocritical scumbag.

It wasn't her. Media went after her in 2008 and 2010, and now going after her again in 2012 since Mr. Gingrich is at spotlight. You're playing the "blame the victim" game, which I find to be despicable.

Of course she could have declined the interview requests, but I don't see any reason to do so. (why should she shut up, when given a national platform?)Mr. Gingrich is being a media whore, running for a president, at the moment. Also, there is this dumb double standard: when candidates bring in their family crew (or even digging stories of the dead) to boast their candidacy (e.g. Ms. palin), why is it inappropriate to dig into the garbage can? It goes both ways.

Probably because she figured this would be the best way to hurt that piece of shit, so she took it. Guess what, he cheated on her and others, so he deserves it. I guess Newt followers have a hard time understanding these concepts, but then again, they are following a guy named Newt.

This!

It speaks very much for her low character to have an interview anytime about this subject. Much more so during the election. It was years ago and has nothing to do with the election. His daughters have publicly stated that is BS and defended their father. She is a nut job wise and beautiful woman with baggage.

WOW

To victimize the victime. FYI, her story pans out, Newt like most GOP Politicians are slime balls or loons.

"We have a guy who wanted an open marriage, has lots of women on the side and buys lots of jewelry. We don't have a presidential candidate, we have a rapper. I'm not going to vote for him, but I'm sure gonna buy his album"...D.L. Hugley

Just heard today. Still can't stop laughing.

I'm sure those folks who are defending Newt by disparaging his ex would do the same if Newt was a Democrat. Right?

I mean, we're talking about morals, ethics and family values and NOT politics, right? :D

The Party of Family Values has spoken loud and clear by forgiving Newt just to get rid of Romney. Ha!

I can't imagine how worse things can get for the Repubs, in their anguished and excruciating effort to get someone, well, ANYone at this point in the game to beat Obama.

There's no Dukakis or Kerry on the other side of the fence to Swiftboat into obscurity. Instead, there's a sitting president to go up against with solid family values, a full warchest and all the advantages that go with it.

It doesn't matter who went after whom... She is doing it IMO for money and to get even for whatever wrong she feels were done to her. I do think it is wrong for her to drag out their dirty laundry at his expense. I don't know if she is a victim or not, neither do you? None of us know what went on behind closed doors. And for it going both ways, he refused to say anything negative about her.

I know... Why is she putting in the public spotlight again. It was long ago. It is public knowledge. I think someone is paying her for the interview just drag this up again. IMO she is just being a bitch.

his sex life is his problem don't see why it is a problem. If he likes to shag hookers and he is doing a great job let him do it. A satisfied man is a hard worker

My own brand of morality dictates that your current value as a person is the sum of your past words and actions. Forgiveness, corrective action, and mitigating circumstances are allowed in the balance sheet too, but you own your past forever.

We can only define what we are by what we have done. You can actually make a lot of mistakes and still be a good person now, but you cannot pretend that your past actions never counted.

Marianne apparently didn't mind sharing Newt during Newt's first marriage...
