Thanks, I can't say I agree with those responses, but we'll see.

You dont agree with my responses? Lmao.

I posted a thread in this very forum about buying american boots (just bought another pair actually in oiled TAN)

The only thing I can think of that you may have taken as me bragging was the bank thread where I posted about the sls hotel but otherwise eh.

And while I wish I could also not agree with the response Micheal Moore will never need what i do. I have done some work on documentaries but it has drop to almost nil because i would rather make robots explode into flying cars and machineguns and people crushing dudes face with a hammer.

I just find it more interesting work.

Push pull, why should I care if a total ahole like Newt Gingrich is rich or not?

Does it make any difference?

The vast amount of damage Newt Gingrich has done to this country is the only telling factor.

Some people improve this country with their lives and conduct, but no doubt about it, the only way Newt Gingrich will improve this country is with his death. Or dare we hope, he will be prosecuted and sent to prison for all the US laws he has already violated.

But if we only ask the wealth question, Newt Gingrich is now also wealthy too. And will throw the entire country under the bus to become even more wealthy.

Kind of like this asshole huh?

Barack Obama is the former Senator from Illinois and the 44th President of the United States with an estimated net worth of $10.5 million dollars.

44th :: Barack Obama (2009-present) Estimated net worth: $5 million.

The first couple reported an adjusted gross income of $5.5 million, almost all of it from royalties associated with the president’s two bestsellers:

You missed the point. It's not whether he is rich or not that's the issue, it's his blinding lack of perspective to make him think he isn't.

Quick! Must Duh-vert! Aieee!

Obama has acknowledged that he's become wealthy, many times. Well, at least in terms that middle class people regard as wealthy. For the Mega-Rich, the Mellon-Scaifes & the Kochs & so forth, he's just an uppity wannabee...

Maybe that was Newt's frame of reference, huh?

Newt Gingrich "not rich"? Thats.....rich.

Politicians should be honest and state that they are rich compared to the average and/or median wage earner. I could respect that. Too many people in the upper end of the income and wealth scales consider themselves middle class when they are anything but.

National Journal?
I realize this is an "Inside Washington" publication, not a mainstream source.
Later, in a campaign stop in Laconia, Gingrich’s kept up his attack – and it got personal. Asked by a local reporter if he would buy a home in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, where Romney has a summer home, Gingrich replied, “No, I can’t afford things like that, I’m not rich.”

When Obama talks about raising taxes on 'the rich', he says 'people like us' a lot, including himself. But of course his wealth pales in comparsion to the very wealthy.

Thank you. There was a fair amount of sacrifice, hard work and luck to put me where I am and I am humbly thankful that i am able to make those choices. I was not always able to work like this so I understand how hard it can be for people. I don't come down on blue collar people or people who work in the service industry. That's a hard life. I respect them for it. I used to be in that industry myself.

Being "rich" is such a relative term. Yet, from a common knowledge man-in-the-street point of view, Newt is a two-faced, forked tongued, dirt eating, adulterous, chauvenistic, politically corrupted, chronically dishonest, profiteering, opportunistic wretched multi-millionaire who exemplifies every single bad thing that a politician can become after spending way too many years manipulating the system that he greedily yearns to some day be in complete control of.

What say we give him a shot at it?

That's how they think. They genuinely believe their income and wealth levels are the norm. That's why they think $1000/yr is nothing

No, they know quite well it's not...however; saying they aren't in public gets the typical people buying into it.

I am sure there are tons of people crying over poor Newt struggling so.

Newt would have been much better off just saying "I'm not that rich", instead of "I'm not rich" - and could have gotten a jab in on Romney as well.

As our politicians rub elbows with the nation's ultra-rich on a daily basis, I can see where they get star-struck and awed by the wealth and influence these power brokers wield.

I can see where Newt, a measly single figure multi-millionaire (that we know of) standing amongst the multi-billionaires he sees as his role models feeling totally inadequate and rightly "poor" in their presence and then seeing himself attaining the presidency to make him an equal in status if not in sheer wealth.

Whatever's motivating Newt to play his lousy losing hand in this game, it's certainly not anything that will benefit our country as a whole and it's certainly not anything to do with serving God and Country at supreme sacrifice on his part. Not him. I mean, just look at how much damage he's caused himself just from being himself. Pitiful, really.
