China did not take US money to support revolution against a corrupt government then immediately join sides with our enemy. Castro did that.

China fought directly against the U.S. in the Korean War.

This is indirectly yet another great argument for abolishing the electoral college. If Florida were not an electorally important swing state, US policy towards Cuba would have taken a turn for the sane a long time ago.

As it is, every candidate has to go down there and pledge limitless revenge on Castro every 4 years. Sigh.

Title should read 'Newt Lies For Votes.'

You don't really think he cares about what the brown skinned people want do you?

This whole primary schedule gives far too much weight to some bad states.

I think everyone agrees about that.

And if we could redistribute electoral votes in a more reasonable manner, with California garnering 40% of the votes, New York garnering 40% and Massachusetts garnering 20%, we could basically fix the electoral system.

Is this before or after Newt builds his "moon base Newt"?
Now if I were Newt's current wife, I'd be a little weary.
I wouldn't put it past Newt with planning to ship all his X and current wife’s off to that big cheese ball in the sky.

I agree somewhat at least. I don't think Iowa, New Hampshire, .etc are bad states (what do you mean by that anyway, and which states are you referring to?), but I do think it is ridiculous that they are always first and in the same order. Too much power and emphasis on the same states every cycle.

Hell yea they did, and it was a brutal display about just how cheap life is to some governments. When we (the US) approached the Korean-China border with tanks (and I think some troops), China sent 300,000 soldiers across to repel the "invasion". IIRC, the tanks were eventually overwhelmed by the sheer number of Chinese foot soldiers, who popped hatches open, your mind can fill in the rest.

How could they not make hatches that couldn't be opened from the outside?

you question begs clarification.
Once a hatch is open, the interior is a death trap to those inside?
Armor is ineffective against masses of ground troops without support.

Correct. But China did not take US money to support revolution against a corrupt government then immediately join sides with our enemy. Castro did that. China was already communist when they fought us.

What was the total level of US aid to Castro? I don't know this number, but I'm willing to bet it was small. I sincerely doubt that many Americans view screwing us out of a small amount of money as worse than being directly responsible for most of 50,000 deaths. (and far greater expenditures)

US policy towards Cuba stopped being rational a long time ago.
