Newsweek has released an article that provides more behind-the-scenes information about the campaigns and it's pretty damning for Palin. You almost have to wonder if McCain knew what was going on and perhaps wanted Obama to win (maybe to teach the GOP a lesson about its religious lunacy?).

Supposedly Palin continued to have shopping sprees even after the $150,000 wardrobe was purchased, she could have hissy fits and be extremely miserable in the morning, she didn't know where Africa was or what countries were in NAFTA, she went off on her own and started attacking Obama on the Ayers front before the McCain campaign had signed off on it or worked out a strategy for it, and the hatred and racism from supporters had become so bad that the Secret Service either considered or had to pull black secret service agents (who were being threatened) from her protection force.

In other news, foreign hackers hacked into both campaigns' computers, perhaps trying to obtain foreign policy information.

Also, before the third debate McCain's staffers had concluded that the election was basically over and debated whether or not to tell McCain that he was sure to lose.

McCain himself rarely spoke to Palin during the campaign, and aides kept him in the dark about the details of her spending on clothes because they were sure he would be offended. Palin asked to speak along with McCain at his Arizona concession speech Tuesday night, but campaign strategist Steve Schmidt vetoed the request.

Thom Hartmann today reported that the RNC is furious with McCain's spending behavior, that she had RNC staffers using personal credit cards to pay for her clothes.

He said that there are RNC lawyers flying to Alaska to get to the bottom of 'where all the money went'.

The question our country has is how to fix the ~15-25% of hardcore right-wingers who are supporting Palin for all the wrong reasons and pose a menace with their votes.
