Ok, this got locked in General Hardware. (guess the word OT: doesn't exclude me from being locked). So in the Off-Topic!

Anyways, i'm on cox@home cable. The News servers are news:119 or 113 (forget), but anyways, I am just hopping onto the Newsgroups bandwagon (after all this time of Forums, IRC, etc). But alot of newsgroups I can't get to. Is it the servers Cox sets up blocks them? Or are the news groups availible to me are only @home users.

What do you have as your news groop server and are you behind anything like a router. I haven't tried newsgroops in a while but I remember seeing something about having to be specific about the server name if you're behind a router.

Well, I am behind a router. But that shouldn't effect anything. I am thinking Cox is censoring all the good newgroups ;).

the cable modem companies censor users as punishment for flooding and breaking rules. they have to do a whole subnet. cable modem people break the rules really easy (such as 300 meg per week post limits).
