the newsgroup download seems to be so slow.
does isp(COX cable modem) put limit on the speed of newsgroup?
 
Some ISPs do throttle NNTP. My guess would be to get a real news service. ISP news servers are notoriosly bad - think about it. there is no money to be made by hosting news servers and the bandwidth requirements are HUGE!!!! Something like 20 Gbytes per day for a full news feed.
