I just noticed something; for as many years as I've been keeping track of world affairs, you 'd think I'd have noticed it before.

How come if I live in The United States, and I'm traveling from place to place, I'm a "traveler", "commuter" or "guy on the road"... but if I live anywhere in the Middle East, and I'm traveling from place to place, I'm "a Pilgrim?"

I really hate it how our media has espoused every single body mass in the Middle East and made each and every one of them some holy person on a quest. :disgust:

I'm more of a flag-waver than most here...but damn, this pisses me off.

Clarification: The Difference in News Coverage.

In the USA...three people were killed when their bus went off the road

COLORADO: Three people were killed when the bus they were riding in went off the road for unknown reasons. There were no other vehicles involved. The driver is being tested for alcohol.

IRAQ/IRAN/AFGHANISTAN/ETC: Three Pilgrims on their way to the most holy of Mosques sacrificed their lifes today when the Allah Bus they were riding in was allegedly blown off the road by Western-influenced soldiers. (pictures of crying women and children inserted here). Kofi Anon has pledged his support in bringing the killers to justice.

See what I mean? Damn you, CNN..

A pilgrim is someone on a holy journey, to jerusalem or something. That's why they're called pilgrims...

And in the future, don't feed the trolls.

Of course the US doesn't have any "holy cities". We're all infidels, and thus are inferior to the likes of those who strap explosive belts around their chests and pray for their 72 virgins..
