I am liking msn way better than Apple News right now, because almost all the stories on Apple News are paywalled teasers to get you to sign up. But msn serves up lots of opinion articles like this one which I think is spot on.

Yes it's a news aggregator. but it aggregates from alot of crappy fly by night websites too, moreso than not

Because right wing idiots just use the default. They stick with Edge or Microsoft's News app and that's fed from MSN and that's where they get their money.

A company I used to work for when I lived in rural Kansas, and all the other guys there had MSN news on their work computers and it was all FOX news and sports shit.

I had a Win11 computer where they were trying to push news and all that shit, and they kept trying to push all right wing shit.

No, not falling for it now or probably ever again, but I did in the past with Reagan, and that was a huge mistake on my part. I guess my point is neither party has done very well in keeping the national debt down which theoretically is supposed to be good for the economy. I guess Clinton came the closest, but his administration had a lot of flaws too.

You literally just did. Its exactly the same shit as Reagan's policies. What the fuck is wrong with your ability to reason?

The national debt doesn't matter for jack shit, let alone against the far larger issues of corruption and wealth inequality. You really need to learn what measures to actually quantify economics with (its not the Stock Market or national debt - for most countries). You're not gonna get those from any of the garbage ass financial media as the old ones are all about propping up the sham crony capitalism that has fucked us over, and the modern "indie" shit is all pushing scams and shit like cryptocurrency and AI which will destroy (its literally intentionally built to accomplish this by getting rid of jobs) economies.

Cripes dude, yes Apple News is a pay service. MSN is a "let any shit get flung at the wall" diarrhea outhouse of shit. Half of it is AI garbage now, and most of the rest is worthless dogshit. You can probably force it to recommend you some decent stuff, but frankly not sure how much of that even exists.

And I wouldn't even want them putting up with MSN's bullshit. Or Facebook or any of the news aggregators which are the primary reason why everything is turning to shit very quickly. They intentionally destroyed media, and when pushed back they pushed even further and their supposed attempts at rectifying it have actually just made it worse (basically it rewards all the clickbait bullshit, with those media brands then just putting out endless empty articles to get you to click), while they also made it even worse because of their AI slop shit, which is being used to prop up dead media entities (aka, ones that laid off their journalists and staff and now just have some dipshit tech bros regurgitate other places' articles using AI).

If you want good journalism, you're gonna have to pay for it. I'm not saying Apple News represents good journalism, and certainly you can pay some bad journalists. But even good journalists still rely on a "buddy network" where they basically just support people they know and frankly there's a lot of mediocre journalism being done that way.
