Story

Excerpt: AMD *is* shipping mobile Palominos. I asked today, and the spokesperson confirmed shipments. Wouldn`t make any statements as to quantity, however. When I asked "Thousands, tens of thousands, millions?" He laughed and said "Thousands for certain"..."

To bad its not the desktop version. Maybe someone will figure out how to get the mobile version to work in a desktop?

I hope they're cheap so it will give Intel some competition in the laptop biz. Hmmm:), mobile Athlon with Geforce 2 GO, now that's a laptop I'd wanna have.

In that case, I'm not holding back my VAIO purchase. I want a Palomino VAIO. *drool* SuperSlim Pro would be nice too. :)

Palomino shouldn't be that HOT, its just a question of how many minutes of battery life you're going to get while playing Quake 3!

heh, they're doing nearly all they can to get battery usage down.. PowerNow!, new advancements to keep it cool..

still, I wouldn't care about battery life, if I could just stick a fuel cell in there and fuel it up (instead of charge it up). either that, or one of These..

That 16 hour battery is really nice. You can carry it easily in your laptop's case, and it's lightweight too. Too bad it's 500$.

Hey don't they run gasoline nowadays?

Fuel Cells? sortof.. many require a reformer to clean out the carbon from things like Natural gas, or Methonal, but when you do that, you finish with Hydrogen (and oxygen from the air, which also should be purified for maximum power, but for most fuel cells, they'll be designed to run on dirty ingredients).

the best would simply to run on Hydrogen.. the problem is storage.

I think the Fuel for the future (which has been suppresed IMHO), is Ethenol - which is just Grain Alcohol!

it certainly would give farmers more money eh? maybe they'd all switch and we'd end up with too little food (not like we have enough to feed the world anways).
