Now after watching that you may wanna think: " Stupid Americans and their gun problem."

Turns out the dude had been stalking baldy and his family for some time, and threatened them too. Baldy knew exactly who the guy was and why he was there.
Now I dont think shooting him while he drove away was justified unless the dude was going straight for his house. I do think a short vid on the internet rarely tells a whole story and is the main reason we shouldn't judge people too quickly.

Where's a link to background about the situation.

Also, when the driver hit the gas, the camera swing back and it looked like he had a badge on his shoulder.

All I see is another responsible gun owner. I just assume the police have been involved and a restraining order was in place

OK so since I posted this, the IMGUR op has removed it from the general IMGUR area meaning all the people who replied with links to the full story are gone.
But there was loads of stuff about how the alleged victim here (Charles Landers) was in fact stalking Michael Truelock and threatening his family. There were scans of restraining orders and some other juicy shit.
It could be a Lifetime movie someday.

If those things were true, he should've called the police when Landers violated the restraining order. Not threaten him with a firearm and discharge it when Landers drove away

I'd prob have shot out the tyres then call the police.

Evidence remains with no risk to driver.

edit: Actually no - I'd have video'd the guy around the house and given it to the police and let them follow it up.

PSA:
Shooting out tires may be harder than portrayed in the movies...

And less legal than shooting to kill.

You may discharge the firearm only in a life threatening situation, for protection. If it isn't aimed at the person, then it clearly was not life threatening. So like a warning shot, "shooting the tires" is likely going to get you in more legal trouble than "self defense".

Absolutely.

It is as stupid as shooting for the arm or leg.

Center mass, double tap IF justified.

Read the first two articles from google. They make it sound like baldy was the aggressor. Can you please link to where you found the other side of the story?

There's some indirect reference to it on this page

It quotes a comment from yet another site, that allleges:
Charles Landers is the ex husband of Mr Truelocks wife. Mr Landers has been threatening the Truelock family for years. Landers has voluntarily given up his children legally because he wanted an out on child support. He purposely went to the Truelock home and was banging on the windows and doors threatening this family.

Presumably the truth, whatever the hell it is, will eventually come out in court?

There has got to be a better way at dealing with stalkers and enforcing restraining orders, than wildly shooting at people driving away, though, surely?

So.
Someone is coming for my kids.
He is in my drive way.
I have my gun out.
Laws are that I may kill this guy for trespassing - with no consequences to me.

Yea you dead.
