i have tried to use news groups and cant figure out how or what to do with the binary code, i could use any info or help like which binary conversion program works the best and is easy to use ? also do i do anything after i get the code converted ? or does it show up automatic? thanks

You can use a newsreader and it will automatically convert the binary code into the appropriate file. A good one is Forte Agent here's a link

Also if you want more information on binaries or have anymore questions this website is a great resource to get you started Linky
Hope that helps 🙂

My favorite binary newsgroup reader is GrabIt. It is easy to use and quick to use. It is the LEAST klunkiest interface I have ever seen.

If anybody know they can match or beat GrabIt in terms of interface, I would like to hear it. I have come across many, many, many newsgroup readers and I still strongly prefer GrabIt.

ah a binary newcomer.... I strongly recommend that you try all other newsreaders available then use Xnews and you will then realize that all others are a pain in the as

I have installed Xnews. That is my 2nd (tied with defunct Newsgrabber) favorite binary reader. But the problem with Xnews is that the learning curve is steep. I am "slowly" learning how to use it. The manual is on the skimpy side. This newsgroup: news.software.readers will help all newcomers understand Xnews. I like Xnews because it doesn't "waste" any of my real estate screen, but News Rover does. News Rover is good, but they need to improve on the truncating the windows. It's been awhile since I've used it, so maybe things have improved by now. The interface is on the klunky side, but it has good features in there.

Xnews and GrabIt are freeware.

BTW, anybody know what happened to the programmer of Newsgrabber? Why did he abandon it?
