Hi Fern... It is fox that made this accusation so I think the title is legit. Please see the john Stewart break down. It all makes sense after. k thanks.
You're not looking at the original thread title, he edited it yesterday.
The thread title now mirrors that of the article, so it's OK.
I find this whole thing beyond ridiculous. And to ignore that terrorism funding has flowed through mosques and other Muslim-type charites flies in the face of known facts. Is this Imam (or whatever his title) involved in this type stuff? IDK, but suspicions are not unreasonable given the confirmed MO of such groups.
Otherwise, I still think the article's title is likely horribly misleading/disingenuous etc.
Read this:
the Kingdom Foundation, al-Waleed's personal charity, has donated a total of $305,000 to Muslim Leaders of Tomorrow, a leadership and networking project sponsored jointly by two of Rauf's organizations.
What does "sponsored" mean? (It doesn't mean 'created', 'founded' or 'controls')
Does sponsored mean they donated money to it? That's the usual meaning.
So Al Waleed and Rauf donate to the same non-profit (which is not the GZM) and the article is trying to say Al Waleed, who is a minority S/H in Fox, is supporting Rauf?
So, if you and I both donate to the United Way, then you are supporting me? Maybe even funding my new building? That's the equivilent of what they're saying. That makes no sense.
This whole thing couldn't be 'stupider' (and of course this is all from a comedy show who someone is trying to take seriously) and ignores the reality of terror funding and how it flows through what otherwise may be legit non-profits.
