HELP ME! MY NEWLY BUILT COMP DOESN'T START UP!

I got the FAR Soyo case w/ 350W PS and the other ECS mobo and Athlon combo also at Fry's. This is my first time at building a computer, so I might have missed something. I have the PS connected to the mainboard, the hard drive, the processor fan and the CD drive. When I turn the power on, nothing happen ---- Did I miss something? Do I have to any jumper setting or adjustment to the mobo?

hi,
do you have the wires that go from the power switch and the reset switch in the case connected to the correct pins on the motherboard?

could also see if the switch on the back of the psu is turned off, if your case buttons are plugged into the mobo right that is

did u install the mobo properly? It could be shortening out somewhere.

I know that was my problem when i first built my PC.

well when i tried to plug the PS to an old board and the PS works. So i think there must be something wrong w/ the mobo?

Don't even install the motherboard inside of the case. Have the motherboard with memory, video card and processor/heatsink installed. Don't hook up any hard drives/modems/network card, floppy, etc. Hook up the ATX connector (biggest connector from the power supply) to the motherboard. Make sure the heatsink on the processor has the fan installed with the air direction blowing towards the motherboard and have that fan hooked up. Use a flat metal screwdriver and touch the two pins on the motherboard where normally the power switch connector is hooked up and the computer will start up if everything is ok.
