Newly built rig, possible to transfer HD?

I put together a new PC. It has a new hard drive with win xp. I have an older 250GB hard drive from my old comp that I want to install too. Will I be able to keep the data on it when I plug it directly in so that I will be running 2 drives.

Yes, XP will automatically detect the 2nd drive and u will be able to keep the data on it.
