ULTRA 600W powersupply
INTEL QUADC 2.4GHz Q6600 CPU
EVGA e-7150/630i nForce Socket 775 MB
OCZ 4096MB PC8000 DDR2 RAM
1- IDE harddrive connected to an adaptor to be plugged into SATA motherboard
1- SATA harddrive (500G)

so I plugged everything in, its powers on, shows various codes on motherboard& stops @ the 75 code which is for detect HDD

on monitor shows the Motherboard screen...
it doesnt use my USB keyboard/mouse so i got a pci port?(the ole school circle/hole one) and attatched that instead... keyboard powers on but i can not access anything....

thats where I am at.
im thikning im needing to get into the bios..

:(

in the manual, the MB says something about doesnt actually have a video card? do I need one & would this be why its not getting anywhere. Im wondering if its just the motherboard is bonk or i didnt do something right.

mind you, its been over 7 years since i tried to build a computer so i lost all knowing of wth im doing... any type of help besides (bring it to bestbuy ) would be helpful, esp since Im ging to be getting a friend who builds puters to troubleshoot this...any tips/tricks for him to try?

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME! sorry for my troubles

Ok, I'm thinking that English is not your first language. What I got from your post is that the computer won't recognize a USB keyboard but, will a PS/2 keyboard. Your MB does have onboard video so, you don't have to have a video card.

When you turn on the computer, have you tried holding down or tapping the delete key to enter the bios? You can partition and format the drive when you begin installing the OS.

Welcome to the Forums!

Check the jumper on the back of you HD, most likely it's set for CS (Cable Select).

Also, in BIOS make sure the HD in enabled and that the Boot sequence is correct - probably CD/DVD, HD, or something along those lines.

If you're getting video (on board?), then you should be okay. You may need to disable the Video card slot, but most likely it shouldn't be a problem.
