I have recently built my first desktop pc with the following specs:

-Power Supply: SEASONIC M12II BRONZE 750 750W 80 PLUS BRONZE
-SSD : ADATA SSD SP600 128 GB 2.5
-HDD : SEAGATE 1TB HDD DESKTOP 64 MB SATAIII 7200RPM 2R
-GPU : MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G
-mobo : GIGABYTE H170N-WIFI (REV. 1.0)
-RAM : DDR4 CRUCIAL 8GB 2133MHZ CL15 1.2V, DUAL RANK
-CPU : CPU INTEL CORE I5-6600 BOX (3.3GHZ, LGA1151, VGA)
-Cooler : Corsair H55 (it is compatible with LGA 1151)
-Case : bitfenix prodigy

However, after the initial setup process I decided to try and play some games and after about 30 minutes it just randomly shut down. I restarted it and immediately made sure to download all drivers imaginable. I tried to play some more video games, but eventually (this time after 2 hours) it shut down again (GPU temps around 75 C and CPU around 55). The computer has repeated to do this under heavy load (sometimes it is after 5 minutes of gaming, other times many hours) these last couples of days and at this point it is really getting on my nerves and I am worried that I might cause permanent damage to my hardware, however I have run out of options and have no idea of how to approach the problem. Can any of you guys help me?

Thanks in advance

EDIT
Sometimes when the computer shuts down it restarts immediately
Sometimes the screen goes black (I lose screen input - the screen is still connected)
Sometimes the computer instantly restarts
Sometimes I have to wait a minute before i can turn it on again
Sometimes I can instantly turn it on again

Seasonic makes good units, but it does sound like a bad power supply with the issues you are describing.

But, if the screen is going black and the computer is still running, that could point to a problem with the video card/ pci-express slot.

Sometimes the screen merely goes black, however most of the time it just shut down. It is very random.

I updated the post with more info

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link! Will try out the BIOS and report back.

Well? Did you flash it yet?

Gigabyte released new firmware for a reason.. " Update CPU Microcode".
They obviously didn't have it right in their initial release.

I downloaded the driver and went into the motherboards built in BIOS flasher (Q-Flash) however, every time I went into the menu the computer shut down or restarted. I am not going to try and flash a BIOS in a system this unstable. I think this might indicate that it is a motherboard issue.

Good call. Do you have a local place where you can buy a power supply to test with (easy return if it does not). If that's not it, it could very well be the board.

You could also pull out the video card and use the CPUs onboard graphics. See if things improve. If that works, it would rule out the motherboard.

I tried to remove the graphics card, and the pc didn't crash when I used intensive application (like 3dmark or games) however, it still crashed every time I went in to the BIOS's flasher.

I will try and follow your advice and see if I can get a PSU

I discovered that if I access the motherboards BIOS flasher directly from the BIOS menu (as opposed to the POST menu) it doesn't shutdown. Despite this I still think it would be a bad idea to try and flash it (given the instability issues) until all other options have been atempted
