Newly Built computer not seeing HDD under "My Computer"

Put everything together last night and all went well with the exception of my computer not seeing the HDD.

In the ASRock EUFI under the Advanced Storage Tab shows my SSD on SATA3_A1 and my HDD on SATA3_1. Additionally the EUFI shows:
SATA Controllers: ENABLED
SATA Mode Selection: AHCI
SATA Aggressive Power Link Mgt: ENABLED
Hard Disk S.M.A.R.T: ENABLED
ASMedia SATA3 Mode: AHCI
SATA Boot ROM: DISABLED

Drilling down one page for each device shows, for the HDD:
Model number, serial number,etc and
External SATA: DISABLED
Hot Plug: ENABLED
SATA Device Type: HARD DISK DRIVER

FOR the SSD it shows:
Model #
Serial #
ULTRA DMA
SMART Supported

Additional information on computer:
Mobo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4
CPU: i5 3750K
CPU Cooler: CM 212+
RAM: 16GB Samsung 1600 (4 Sticks)
Vid Card: Sapphire HD-7950
SDD : Intel 520 180GB
OS: Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium
HDD : WD Blue 500GB

Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

See if the Hard drive is really functional. Maybe try to install it on another computer to see if it recognizes it.

You just need to format it. Type "computer management" into the Start Menu, press Enter, go to Disk Management, and a dialog should pop up asking you to initialize the disk.
