Newly bought x800xt

I just got my new(refurb) X800XT in. It's actually the asus extreme x800xt. These were bought from a parts replacement store so I think they are just OEM and not used/returned. Anyways, nothing is included with the card. If anyone has this card, how loud is it? Is it possible to run without the PCI-e power adapter? Where can I find the hdtv component cable that should have came with it? TIA

in response to the power cable question
it is POSSIBLE to run it without the extra power cable, however the cards AI senses this and slows the card down GREATLY to compensate for the power loss. soooo if ur not planning on gaming with ur new x800xt then go ahead, leave it unplugged. but then, if that was the case, whyd u buy it in the first place? 🙂 get one o the adapters from the Egg, they are cheap as hell and dont take up much space in the case

Do you know that for a fact? Because thats not what happens. If the card detects that its missing the AUX power imput it'll flash a message on the screen complaining about it.

well i have a x800gto2 AND a 7800gt and BOTH can run windows fine without the extra power cable. i tried to make sure nothing would happen. all that happens is when u get into windows a message pops up saying the clocks have been reduced becasue no auxiliary power was detected. so yeah, i DO know that for a fact

Thanks,
Morgash

I got the flashing msg to connect the extra power cable during bootup. Luckily i had a friend with a power cable he wasn't using. I'm also using a very weak psu right now, dunno if that makes a difference.

PCI-e. So I haven't been big into the gaming scene lately. What are some new games I should get to see what my card can do? I've aleady played doom3, far cry, cod2... albeit with my ti4200.
