By far that 7900GS is the best $100 - $125 deal on a video card on NewEgg atm. It's a pre Oc'd version as well and a few people have been getting insane OC's on those if you search the net for reviews n stuff. One guy even got 650/1800 on his 😵 .

Maybe the Powercolor 2600XT -- the 512MB is sort of useless, but this does pretty well in newer (shader-heavy) games. Also, neat (if big) HSF.

I assume the 2600 line will drop in price after the 3800s come out, but maybe not by much.

I've yet to see a NewEgg letter in my inbox that actually had any worthwhile deals on parts I'd be interested in, lol. Videocard emails never have the right parts at the right prices. Same with CPU emails. I've come to the conclusion that NewEgg emails are mostly to clear out old inventory for people who either don't know any better or for some reason need to build a rig with lesser or older parts.

The 7900GS is faster than the 8600GT. Don't be fooled by DX10 capabilities. At the speed the 8600GT runs at you won't be able to play any DX10 games anyhow.
