Newest ATI Catalyst Drivers and 1:1 pixel ratio scaling on LCD monitors

With ATI's newest Catalyst driver release (5.8), are ATI's 1:1 pixel ratio scaling options for LCD monitors on DVI improved so that they work for all resolutions, like Nvidia's do?

Also, how do I turn vsync on in CCC?

Thanks.

Can't tell you about DVI pixel mapping but, Advanced View>3D>All Settings>"Wait for vertical refresh" (move slider) or right click on the ATI tray icon and follow the menus for 3D Settings.

Wait. Do 2D games tear?

EDIT: That didn't help. See, I'm having a problem in 2D games. When I'm walking, the screen keeps getting a line going up from the bottom of the game screen to the top...I don't know what this is. Can anyone help? Thanks.

And can anyone answer my other question?

Thanks.

it doesn' matter what kind of game you play; if Vsync isn't on, it's gonna tear.

Did you move the slider to always on? I haven't found a game that overrides that yet.

The "no scaling" option _did_ work just fine before. However, many panels have their own internal scaling that can't be disabled - and then obviously there's nothing the graphics card could be doing about it.
