Newer CPU, older mainboard?

I'm thinking about picking up an Athlon XP 2600+ to replace the Athlon 1.33 Ghz on my motherboard currently. The motherboard is a Gigabyte 7DXR which I installed in 2001. I know it supports the 2600+, but would the CPU's performance be affected by this combination? My system specs should be in the link below.
 
Yes, you're new processor wouldn't be able to show its full potential sitting in that old mobo of yours. Enter EPoX 8RDA+ ....
 
The only performace affected would be memory by the Northbridge chipset. Which would be a handful of % points.

As long as you got the 2600+ that has the 133 MHz FSB and not the 166 MHz, you'll be alright.
