newer CATs better?

Since I upgraded my PCs video card to a 9800np last July I haven't upgraded my CATs. I think they're 3.6s or 3.7s. Are the new ones any better, and if so what advantages do they provide? I do game a bit, currently involved in Homeworld 2 at the moment, for example. I'm also a first time ATI owner who'd been accustomed to the rare and flaky driver releases by nVidia.
 
Each set has release notes that tell the changes, fixes, etc. if you are really curious. I am sticking with the 3.7s because they work just fine for my games.
