I realize, but part of the reason I asked was that they never specify credit or debit.

It would really be silly oif them not to take a debit card, because unlike a credit card, there is no recourse available if there is a problem.
 
Normal debit cards cannot be used, because they lack a credit function. A debit card with a credit function (i.e. Visa, Mastercard, etc) can be used just like a normal credit card on NewEgg.
