I hadn't noticed either heh, was thinking 'jeez 400 is a bit low for a new one'... Yeah, I avoid refurbs. At best it's something that didn't OC well, at worst some kid wrecked the firmware trying to get more out of it... I don't need the headache.

Refurbished doesn't mean remanufactured. Newegg's refurbs are often open box returns from customers that are untested and only offer like a 2 or 4 week warranty to protect the buyer from a DOA part.
